About the author: Charles M. Rodgers is a lifelong resident of South Dakota who became interested in history while attending Wessington High School. Charles further pursued his interests at Huron College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and then South Dakota State University earning a Master of Education in School Administration with a minor History. Charles is an active member pf the Washington High Historic Committee and has been involved in the placement of historic markers around the school.
