Meet the Artist
MOSAICWOOD CREATIVES
Matthew Croke always had an interest in woodworking, but it
was only in the past few years that he began developing his
art. Matthew’s passion is intarsia, a technique of fitting together
different types of wood to form detailed images.

What started with learning the basics has grown into designing
and creating my own original pieces. This journey has led me to
start MosaicWood Creatives, a name inspired by my initials ‘MC’
and a reflection of the mosaic-style woodwork I create. Building
connections in the community and providing a high quality,
handmade, and unique art has been my goal, and I look forward to
continuing to share that passion with others. – Matthew Croke

Matthew Croke is originally from Faribault, Minnesota. He is a
senior civil engineering student at South Dakota State University.
He designed the Jackrabbit pattern, a piece that captures SDSU
school spirit while staying true to MosaicWood Creative’s
nature-inspired theme.
