About the author: Yvonne Hollenbeck lives near the tiny village of Clearfield, in South Central South Dakota, where she and her husband own and operate a working cattle and quarter horse ranch. Yvonne actively participates in the every day work involved with the operation of the ranch, and being a rancher’s wife. An occasional event or memory may also stir her creativity. Her poetry, often humorous in nature, is based upon every-day experience, however, she also writes about the not-so-humorous situations her mother and grandmothers experiences in their rural settings.
