About the author: Chuck Cecil was born in 1932 in Wessington Springs, S.D. The family moves to Sturgis, S.D., and then to Rapid City, S.D., in 1940, where he graduated from high school in 1950. He served as an aerial photographer in Japan during the Korean War. He graduated from South Dakota State University in 1955 and was a newspaper reporter and editor before joining his alma mater as Assistant to the President and administrator in fund raising and public relations. After retirement Cecil formed The RFD News Group, a chain of 10 newspapers he published until retirement from that business in 2000 to write books.
