CloseAbout the author: Rhoda Blumberg is acclaimed for her informative and compelling books for young readers. In addition to writing YORK'S ADVENTURES WITH LEWIS AND CLARK, a companion to THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY OF LEWIS AND CLARK, and SHIPWRECKED!: The True Adventures of a Japanese Boy, she is the author of COMMODORE PERRY IN THE LAND OF THE SHOGUN, which received a Newbery Honor, A Golden Kite Award, and a Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, among other important honors. A native of Brooklyn and a magna cum laude graduate of Adelphi College, Ms. Blumberg worked as a radio scriptwriter and as a journalist before writing books for children full time. She lives in Yorktown Heights, New York.
